The company's main source of revenue comes from the manufacturing of motor vehicles and light trucks. The company also manufactures motorcycle and outboard motors. Suzuki has become the 12th largest automobile manufacturer in the world today based off of production volume. The Suzuki Motor Corporation has become so large that it has 35 production facilities in 23 countries and 133 distributors in 192 countries worldwide.

The company was originally founded in 1909 by Michio Suzuki as the Suzuki Loom Company that manufactured weaving looms for Japan's silk industry.
